In response to a recent industry spike, Indigenous Tourism BC has launched its Authentic Indigenous Designation Program.
As an upgrade to its Authentic Aboriginal program, originally launched in 2012, the program helps visitors identify true Indigenous experiences.
Stakeholders who offer compelling, culturally-focused experiences will be granted the Authentic Indigenous designation.
By supporting businesses with the designation, tourists can be rest assured that they are helping to preserve local Indigenous cultures.
Between 2014 and 2017, the number of Indigenous tourism businesses increased by 33 percent province-wide.
In order to capitalize on this unprecedented growth, ITBC has also unveiled their upgraded website, boasting a number of new features.
