A number of individuals and organizations with a pressence in northern BC took home awards from the Forest Products Association of Canada this weekend.
Held annually, FPAC’s Awards of Excellence seek to honour and recognize the achievements of forestry workers in Canada.
Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall was among 4 winners of the Forest Community Champion Award.
Based out of Fraser Lake, Selkin Logging Limited took home the Indigenous Business Leadership Award.
With operations in both the Peace and Cariboo, Mercer International took home the Innovation Award, while Mercer employee Jim Witiw was also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sandy Ferguson of Conifex Timber Inc, which has operations in MacKenzie and Fort St James, nabbed the Outstandin Member Award.
Award recipients were honoured during a ceremony in Vancouver on Friday.
