A proposal which will help bring more youth and family focused forms of active transportation to Terrace received support from Council yesterday.
During last night’s regular Council meeting, representatives from the Terrace Off Road Cycling Association presented a plan to improve and expand their Courthouse Trails.
More than 3 kms of trails in the Terrace Mountain area would see development as part of the estimated 126 thousand dollar project.
Under the proposal, two existing trails in the area would receive rehab work, new climbing and connector trails would be built, and a pump track to test out more advanced skills would be built alongside the track.
TORCA plans to have a detailed plan out by this fall, with fundraising lasting until spring of 2020.
After hearing the presentation, City Council voted to write a letter of support for the project and refer to staff regarding further involvement.
