Asbestos caution tape placed around the site of a water main break in Prince Rupert on Monday was only used as a substitute.
According to Saanich Plumbing and Heating, the tape was only used because it was the only caution tape available.
They say the break at a BC Housing property on Seville Roads was actually due to a compression fitting coming loose.
M’akola Housing Society, who manage the property, only had the asbestos tape on hand.
