Members of a Gitxsan Crisis Management Team met with Minister Doug Donaldson earlier this week to discuss their fishing ban.
Discussions centred around the Gitxsan allowing access to anglers in 2020.
For the 2019 season, the Gitxsan Hereditary Chiefs are no longer accepting fishing permits or guide fishing licenses on their tenure.
It is the hopes of the Gitxsan that the Nation and the province can create a shared objective which respects and upholds their recreational fishing ban.
In a release by the Nation, they say Minister Donaldson is committed to the crisis management process.
Another meeting between his office and the Nation is slated for September.
