Several wildfires sprouted up as a result of heavy lightning in the Northwest Fire Centre last night.
Two of those fires are within the Skeena Fire Zone, with both measuring less than a hectare and being actioned by small crews with air support.
Those fires are located 12.5 kms west of Rosswood, and 12.5 kms northwest of Meziadin Junction.
Four fires can be attributed to the Bulkley Fire Zone, all measuring less than one hectare.
One of those is located 3.5 kms north of the Smithers Airport, one in 40 kms north of Hazelton, another sprouted up near Trout Creek, while the fourth is located 5 kms southwest of Witset.
Another fire was located in the Nadina Fire Zone, but it turned out to be a single tree and his since been extinguished.
In total, the BC Wildfire Service has responded to 11 calls since yesterday afternoon, with 4 being false alarms.
