It was a packed house yet again for a public hearing held in the Terrace Council Chambers last night.
Councillors hosted the discussion on a proposed Community Plan and Bylaw amendment ahead of their regular meeting.
Earlier this summer, Council gave first and second readings to a Bylaw which would redesignate a property near the area known as Lanfear Hill.
Located at the corner of Thomas Street and McConnell Avenue, the owners are seeking to split the land and rezone a small portion.
Currently, the entire plot is designated Low Density Multi-Family Residential.
Under the proposal, a small portion of the land would be changed to Neighbourhood Commercial zoning to allow the future operation of a small convenience store, gas station, laundromat, or the like.
Residents voiced a number of concerns over the amendments, though traffic became the focal point.
A clause requiring the owners to perform a traffic impact study already existed within the proposal.
Due to this, Council decided to, rather than make a hasty decision, table the discussions until after the survey is completed.
