For Terrace City Council, the time has come to discuss the growing “tent village” near the City’s entrance.
Located near the Dudley Little Bridge, the village began to sprout up following the spring-time closures of the City’s extreme weather shelters.
In recent weeks a number of issues with law enforcement have popped up in the area around the camp, and residents have begun issuing complaints.
Part of the property in question is provate property, while part of it is considered public park property, and is owned by the City.
Following their regular meeting last night, Councillors voted to schedule a time to hold an in-camera meeting to discuss how they wish to approach the issue.
A brief discussion revealed Council’s intent to move the camp to a more suitable location, rather than take any drastic measures.
