Yet another Grey Whale has appeared on the shores of Haida Gwaii, marking their fourth of the year.
Discovered on North Beach, east of Masset, last week, the whale marks the 8th total to wash up on the province’s coast in 2019.
An autopsy has since been performed on the whale and scientists are currently looking in to the exact cause of death.
2019 has been one of the worst years on record for the water-faring mammal, with mortality numbers exponentially higher than the last 18 years.
