The City of Prince Rupert has lifted a boil water notice issued for an area of the community.
The City says flushing of the water system has removed bacteriological coliforms that prompted the notice last Friday.
Officials believe the increased bacteria revealed by testing was a result of low flows, oversized piping in the area, and recent storm surges.
As a preventative measure, crews will continue to flush the lines in the area, known as Section 2.
Northern Health and city officials will continue to conduct regular testing and will notify residents if there are concerns.
