On November 3 Taylor Bachrach officially gave his resignation from Smithers Council.
The town is currently waiting for an announcement on a grant application for the Library-Art Gallery project. It is anticipated that the grant announcement will take place in early 2020.
If the application is successful it would then trigger assent voting for the Library-Art Gallery borrowing.
The by-election vote will also be held off until the town receives the announcement. This is due to the high cost of each vote which is approximately $30,000 each.
