On Dec. 17, city staff will be presenting the first draft of the 2020 budget to council for consideration in a meeting open to the public. This budget includes a tax increase of 8 per cent in 2020.
This will be an increase of $10 a month to the average household. Some key points in the budget include, an extra RCMP officer, two additional firefighters, more proactive Bylaw Compliance in the downtown core and a parks supervisor.
There will also be a temporary increase to administration to assist staff in managing the impacts of LNG Canada. The Dec. 17 meeting is public observation only. If you wish to participate and provide feedback on the draft budget you can send your emails to budget@terrace.ca until Jan. 15.
