Organizers of the Junior All Native Basketball Tournament have decided to cancel this year’s event.
In a note to teams and coaches, organizers say the spirit of the tournament is to bring people together.
The message goes on to say that “by proceeding with this event it could be divisive to individual communities and our JANT Community”.
The tournament was to have tipped off in Kelowna on Sunday.
Organizers say it was a difficult decision and that it will take a few more days to sort out further details.
