The Prince Rupert RCMP are seeking witnesses in relation to a fatal motorcycle crash.
The crash took place on May 9 at 5:14 p.m., an off-duty Prince Rupert RCMP officer came across a motorcycle crash on Highway 16 near kilometre 45. The rider, and lone occupant of the Harley Davidson motorcycle was deceased at the scene. Police spoke with people at the scene, however no one actually witnessed the crash having come upon it after.
Evidence at the scene suggests the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve in the highway and left the roadway. Police believe speed may have been a factor, the driver died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing and Prince Rupert RCMP are asking anyone that may have witnessed the crash or has any information to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
