Kitimat Search & Rescue promote water safety

It’s been a year since the tragic drowning of Nick Hopwood in the Kitimat River.

Now Kitimat Search & Rescue along with two local fishing guides have partnered on a number of Kitimat River Safety Initiatives.

Two of the key components are, changing the current fishing culture and educating boaters and fisherman on the Kitimat to wear their personal flotation devices at all times. Along with educating the public on proper fishing wader wearing and safety.
