The most recent stats from the Northwest Regional Airport have been released.
June saw an increase of more than two times from the previous two months to over 6,400 riders, but still a big drop from last years numbers. As restrictions are beginning to lift people are taking the opportunity to travel again.
The decline first began in March when Covid-19 restrictions started to ramp up with a giant tumble to an all-time low in April. The Kitimat-Terrace Airport is a hub in the Northwest but currently only has a handful of flights still leaving daily. Most of them going to Vancouver with Central Mountain Air connecting Terrace and Prince George.
