The City of Terrace’s Fire Department is welcoming its newest highway rescue vehicle.
The vehicle replaces the previous truck that was purchased in 1993. This vehicle was ordered in 2018 and was set to arrive in 2020, as part of the 2020 budget. The vehicle’s cost was $760,000, with $500,000 coming from LNG Canada and the remainder from the City’s Machinery and Equipment Reserve Fund.
The vehicle is equipped with various tools for responding to various fires and accidents.
Dave Jephson, Deputy Fire Chief says that this is another tool in the toolbox and will be a great asset to the City of Terrace. Jephson goes on to say that a vehicle such as this would be in service for 20 to 25 years.
