Northern Health alongside the First Nations Health Authority, and the Nisga’a Valley Health Authority are working closely following potential Covid-19 exposure in the Nass Valley.
Nisga’a Valley Health has requested that all attendees at recent gatherings between Aug 21. and Aug 24. contact the Nisga’a Valley Health Authorities clinic to identify as a potential contact.
Work is being done with health partners to coordinate the community response. Public health contact tracing is currently underway and health teams are reaching out to individuals who may have been exposed. Close contacts of any of the confirmed cases will be informed by health officials. Close contacts of the event attendees are also being identified. Community members who are not contacted directly should continue to follow public health advice for reducing the spread of Covid-19.
Individuals that experience any Covid-19 symptoms are asked to self-isolate and contact their doctor immediately.
