Speak their names…that is a phrase I have heard repeated in my short time as Journeys host, a phrase that packs so much meaning when it comes to keeping the memories of the many Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada, alive.
In this episode, we’re speaking with Sheridan Martin, the sister of Cindy Martin, who went missing near New Hazelton on December 23rd, 2018 at age 50.
Since her disappearance, there have been no significant leads, but her family keeps up hope and keeps her name alive by speaking it. In this interview, Sheridan talks about her beautiful sister, her activism work and the impact she left on those around her.
She also discusses her frustration with the RCMP’s investigation, something that is also a common theme I’ve heard while speaking with the families of MMIWG.
