Around 8 p.m. on Oct. 14, Prince George RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on the 6200 block of Upper Fraser Rd., east of the city.
Officers and other emergency services went the scene and located an over turned SUV in the ditch. A 67-year-old man was located deceased. Evidence and witness statements have led officers to believe that the driver was travelling at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The B.C. Coroners Service is conducting an investigation to confirm the cause of death. The Prince George RCMP would like to thank Prince George Regional Highway Rescue and local volunteer firefighters for their assistance at the scene.
