Artist and entrepreneur Erin Brillon is making things happen for herself province-wide, all while working from the small Vancouver Island community of Comox.
Not only is Totem Design House an online store, but it’s also a studio and retail location for her work, and the work of her partner, Andy Everson. It’s a family affair as well, as Erin’s insanely talented brother Jesse also makes up part of the team.
In our interview, Erin talks not only about Totem Design House, but also about growing up spending time on Haida Gwaii and in Prince Rupert with family, how she strives to make everything she creates eco-friendly, and how she aims to uplift other indigenous makers and artists.
