The film version of Eden Robinsons book Monkey Beach set in Kitimaat Village had its official release earlier this year at the Vancouver International Film Festival and since then, it’s seen quite a bit of success, with nominations and wins at various festivals and award shows for its director, Loretta Todd, as well as its actors, including our guest tonight, Beaver Lake Cree Nation’s Tina Lameman.
Tina is fresh of a win for Best Actress at the Red Nation Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Best Supporting Actress award at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco, where Monkey Beach scored big time.
Tonight we’ll hear about Tina’s Journey to becoming an award winning actress, and what it felt like to be a part of Monkey Beach, filmed right here in Northern BC.
