The province is accepting nominations for the Order of British Columbia which is the province’s highest honour.
The award honours people who demonstrate outstanding achievement, excellence or distinction in a field that benefits people in the province or elsewhere. People are encouraged to nominate individuals who have left a lasting legacy in their respective fields.
Nominations will be reviewed by an independent advisory council which is chaired by the chief justice of B.C.. The deadline to nominate someone has been extended to April 9 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition to the Order of B.C., people can also nominate individuals for the Medal of Good Citizenship. The medal recognizes citizens for their exceptional long-term service and contributions to their communities.
Applications can be made on the Order of B.C.’s website. Nominations for the Medal of Good Citizenship can be made on the Government of B.C.’s website.
