We’ve got a local Terracite on this episode of Journeys…An artist who now calls Coquitlam his home, but stays very connected to the Northwest in various ways.
One of which is through his enrolment at Coast Mountain College’s Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art. And more recently, Alexander Erickson Sr. was awarded the President’s award at the college for his piece called “The Provider”, his interpretation of a bumble bee.
In our interview Alexander will talk about the meaning behind that project, how he found a connection and escape in art at a young age, as well as what he hopes to do with it in the future.
