After being in effect for several months, The Government of BC has decided to put an end to the province wide Wildfire based state of emergency today after a Wildfire season that resulted in about 32-thousand people being displaced.
Despite this, the Province did mention that the Wildfire season isn’t over yet and they still recommend that the public stay prepared just in case a fire flares up. They also requested that all residents follow the direction of local authorities in case something happens.
The state of emergency was first put into effect back on July 20th and it will finally expire at 11:59 p-m tonight.
According to reports, 205 Wildfires are still ongoing in BC and only three evacuation orders that affect about 223 properties, are still ongoing.
