Due to personal reasons, The President of the BC nurses union has decided to resign from her post.
A statement from the union’s website says that Christine Sorensen has left her position in pursuit of other opportunities.
Sorenson’s departure comes only a week after the BC Government made it known that all health care workers in the province would be required to get fully vaccinated.
The Union has made it known that they are in favor of vaccinations in the past, but they also expressed their concerns over how the mandatory vaccinations would affect BC’s already problematic nursing shortage.
