SD52 Reminds Residents That Truth and Reconciliation Day is Not Just a Holiday

School District 52 wants to make sure people understand that Truth and Reconciliation Day is more than just a day off.

Next Thursday, most of Canada will be at home, in honour of the new stat holiday, also known as Orange Shirt Day.

But the Indigenous Education Department of SD 52 says this day is more than a holiday, it is an essential day of reflection, and learning, as well as a day of mourning for survivors and families.

They also made sure to mention that everyone has a role to play in reconciliation, no matter the scale.
