With the fourth wave of the pandemic aligning with schools reopening, some questions over attendance rates have arisen.
But, in Prince Rupert, attendance rates are actually higher this year than the beginning of last year.
As of September 10th, 96 percent of students within School District 52’s area have returned to in-person classes.
That rate is 6 percent better than it was at the same time last year.
District officials are reaching out to families of students who have not yet returned to encourage them to do so.
Official enrollment for the year is not determined until September 30th.
