An Online petition demanding Police be held accountable for the shooting of a man in Quesnel last month has gained some serious traction.
The petition has named David Baker as the man who was shot to death by the RCMP in the very early morning of August 31st.
A news release was sent out later that day by the RCMP saying that they approached a man sleeping in his vehicle in a parking lot, and that once he was awoken, he reached for a gun before officers shot him.
The Brown SUV that the man was in, was located in between the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre and Legion and it supposedly had more than a dozen bullet holes in it.
Some Investigators from B.C.’s police watchdog looked over the scene to determine if there was any Police wrongdoing for the next couple of days.
The petition demanding justice for Mr. Baker is currently not far from its goal of getting 1,000 signatures.
