Despite some lofty vaccination numbers, most of the Northwest remains in the red zone when it comes to Covid infections.
According to the most recent report from Northern Health, Terrace saw 54 new Covid cases between October 3rd and the 9th, and are sitting at a 75 percent two-dose vaccination rate.
Kitimat continues to fare better than most regions, notching 18 cases over the same period, and registering an 85 percent double dose rate, the highest in the North.
Prince Rupert saw 15 new cases, and are about 78 percent fully vaccinated.
Smithers continues to have the most cases in the Northwest with 73, tailing only Prince George, and the two Peace Region zones.
In Smithers, the rate of double vaccinations is also bottom in the Northwest at 67 percent.
The Haida Gwaii and Nisga’a regions each saw one case.
