The workers of Lifelabs, who were on strike for a brief period of time last month, have officially voted in favor of a new collective agreement.
The more than 1,550 members of the B-C General Employees’ Union decided to agree to a proposed three year deal that will see the workers pay increase average around 12 percent.
The union gave a statement saying that the workers will be getting a $1,250 signing bonus to go along with their pay increase.
The union also said that this new agreement addresses the wage gap that existed between the LifeLab workers and public-sector employees that happened to be doing pretty similar work.
