If you live in Terrace and have ever lamented that a marathon was just too short, you’re in luck.
After receiving Council permission last night, Terrace is set to become host of the Skeena Ultra Marathon Trail Running Weekend.
100k, 50k, and 25k trail races are all proposed as part of the event, which in the case of the 100k race, could take up to 18 hours to finish.
Proposed for the weekend of August 20th, the race course’s would be approximately 85 percent trail and 15 percent City, and would make use of mutliple city trails.
The tentative route would have participants start at the Hub near the Sportsplex, and cross the Old Skeena Bridge, Krumm Avenue, Queensway, and more during the course of the track.
An SAR volunteer and host of other ultra marathon events in New Foundland, the organizer ensures the safety of the event.
