It has been two weeks since a provincial mandate was put in place requiring all health care workers to get vaccinated against Covid-19 or lose their jobs.
Today, Health Minister Adrian Dix provided a more in depth look in to how that mandate has effected workers in specific regions and fields.
Of the 3,071 unvaccinated registered healthcare workers in BC, 989 are full-time employees, and 819 are part time, while the rest are casual or unknown.
Across BC, unvaccinated individuals make up 2 percent of registered health care workers, while they account for 4 percent in Northern Health, and 5 percent in the Interior.
By job category, 906 registered nurses, 28 Critical Care workers, 105 in general medicine, 27 surgical specialists, and 420 allied health care staff remain unvaccinated, all good for 2 percent of their respective fields.
In support fields, 247 health care assistants, and 1,061 admin and support staff workers are unvaccinated, both equaling 3 percent of their occupations.
In total, 1,548 vaccinated, experienced, health care employees have been added provincewide since the mandate took effect.
