Members and supporters of the Haisla Nation will be gathering in Kitamaat Village on Friday in a show of solidarity with a young Haisla student.
Last week said student made headlines for standing up against discrimination and inspiring reactions from a number of area First Nations.
The discrimination took place on picture day, when the student was mocked by a teacher for wearing his traditional regalia.
Classmates of the student stood alongside him, and gathered at the school to show their support following the school day.
Now, members of the Haisla Nation are asking everyone to don their regalia for an event at the Kitamaat Village Rec Centre.
Attendees should plan to arrive around 4:00 and make sure to bring their vaccine cards, ID, and masks.
