Terrace and the nearby area have not seen any snow yet. But it will be coming soon and the city says drivers need to heed parking restrictions so that snow can be removed daily.
As of today, street parking is prohibited in Terrace and if your vehicle impedes snow removal on the main streets, they can be towed and the vehicle owners will have to pay the bill.
Under the bylaw, every street, boulevard, alley and highway are designated as snow removal routes and keep in mind while the city crews do work at night, snow clearing can be carried out anytime of the day.
Hills like Lanfear, Kalum, Park and Birch are priorities followed by the hospital and school zones. Less prioritized areas will be cleared when crews and equipment are freed up from the main clearing chores.
The city strives to clear sidewalks, but that happens based on available manpower.
