Nisga’a Lisims President Eva Clayton will undergo surgery to remove a cancerous tumor later this month.
In an update issued to the Nation today, Clayton revealed that a recent mammogram had discovered the tumor.
She is set to undergo initial surgery to remove the tumor on December 12th, after which a treatment plan will be finalized.
Clayton will continue in her role as President, performing her work virtually when required.
Executive Chairperson Brian Tait will fill in as support if needed, and will act as President should the need to do so arise.
