Staffing has been an issue for hospitals in the North for some time, and Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace is not exempt.
Northern Health says Mills is experiencing significant challenges with staffing coverage in diagnostic imaging.
Those issues are having a particular impact on CT scanner operations, and may necessitate the transfer of patients with urgent needs.
Northern Health is aggressively recruiting to fill all vacant positions in diagnostic imaging at the hospital, and there is an on-going effort to secure temporary staffing.
While every effort is being made to stem the impact of the shortages, the Authority is asking patients with less urgent needs to visit their family physician or contact their virtual clinic (by following this link).
