After a streak of weather delays and supply chain issues, the Seal Cove Salt Marsh in Prince Rupert is eyeing a Spring 2022 opening.
Initially scheduled to open this summer, the Prince Rupert Port Authority says weather conditions and issues acquiring materials led to the delay.
But, with benches and lights set to be installed next month, the restoration project is nearing the finish line.
In addition to enhancing the waterfront visually and recreationally, the project will also revitalize key habitats and ecosystems damaged by human development.
Fully funded by the Port Authority, the City of Prince Rupert provided the land for the collaborative project.
