Residents of the Northwest spent the second weekend of the new year being bombarded by snow, and eventually, freezing rain.
Hazardous road conditions will continue in to tonight with freezing rain this afternoon turning to ice pellets over night.
A winter storm warning is in place for inland sections of the North Coast, such as Terrace, Kitimat, Stewart, and surrounding areas.
Winds of up to 110 km/h are also expected for areas of the Central Coast near Bella Coola, and on Haida Gwaii.
Freezing rain has prompted a travel advisory on Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert, with sporadic closures in affect as well.
Highway 37 is also facing a travel advisory due to compact snow and freezing rain between Terrace and Kitimat.
And Highway 37A is looking at a travel advisory of their own, with increased avalanche risks in the area.
As always, you can check DriveBC for up to the minute traffic updates.
