Five public buildings in Prince George now display the new Lheidli T’enneh flag, following ceremonies last week.
Last week saw the Nation’s old flag lowered at City Hall, the Regional District office, RCMP detachment, College of New Caledonia, and UNBC, and replaced with the new edition.
This new flag design features an orange ribbon in the bottom right corner to honour and remember victims of the Residential School system.
It marks the first time in more than 200 days that the flags will fly at full-mast, having been lowered following the discovery of hundreds of unmarked graves on Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc territory.
