Drivers in the northwest are once again being advised to stay off the roads, unless completely necessary.
Travel advisories are in place on Highway 16 between Prince Rupert and Terrace, and through to Cedarvale, due to the ice-coated roads.
Similarly slick roads are prompting a travel advisory on the entirety of the Nisga’a Highway as well.
Highway 37 will face slippery roads and compact snow as well, but is facing a pair of major delays of a different kind.
Avalanche control work will pick up this afternoon between Cottonwood Bridge and Simmons Lake, and between Centreville Road and Good Hope Lake.
Highway 37a is also looking at avalanche control work today from the Pearly Gates to the Windy Chain Pull-out.
