For the first time in more than two decades, the Snowbirds will be joining an airshow in Terrace this summer.
Terrace has not played host to a major airshow since 2004, a show which did not involve Canada’s most famous aerial performers.
Now, the Northwest Regional Airshow Society have been awarded a date of July 20th for a demo from the Snowbirds, the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18, the Canadian Skyhawks, and more.
During their regular council meeting last night, Terrace City Council agreed to write a letter of support for the airshow to the Airforce.
They also agreed to give permission to fly 500 feet above the highest obstacle in Terrace, though they were not entirely sure it was something they had the authority to do.
