School District 82 is standing pat regarding its decision on whether or not to issue a vaccine mandate, for the time being.
Since the idea of mandating vaccination for staff first came before them, the Coast Mountains School District’s philosophy has remained the same.
They believe that a decision to issue a mandate should come from the province, and not them.
Late last month, the District launched a ThoughtExchange survey, in an effort to gauge the community’s feelings on a potential mandate.
Most responses aligned with their decision to not issue a mandate for staff at this time.
You can view the full results of that survey at this link.
Discussions are continuing and the District says their Medical Health Officer will advise them in the case of heightened risk.
