Those who want to complete a trades apprenticeship in BC will be getting help from the province as BC looks to implement skilled trades certification.
The Industry Training Authority has received $5 million from the province in order to allow trades workers to start apprenticeships with trades training providers or known post secondary schools.
Another way the ITA is looking to help would be trades workers is by hiring 5 more apprenticeship advisors, and their job is to give advice to apprentices as well as employ sponsors on apprenticeship processes and policies.
Apprenticeship advisors are also meant to make their respective communities more aware of BC’s apprenticeship program.
You can find more information about the program here.
