Welcome to an episode of Journeys with Kelly Kenny.
I was able to sit down with the BC Office of the Human Rights commissioner, Kasari Govender.
BC Office of Human Rights are holding a public inquiry into hate incidents. Since the pandemic there has been an unfortunate surge in hate crime.
We need to address the root causes of inequality, discrimination and injustice in B.C.
If you have an incident to share please do as this will help with the collection of data to make the necessary changes by shifting laws, policies, practices and cultures.
If you would like to help out there is a way .. you may go to @bchumanrights.ca/survey
You will hear from Commissioner, Kasari Govender as she gives us insight to how this public enquiry is being completed and when we can expect her recommendations.
As Kasari states this will not be “dusty old report” there will be action taken.
