Some welcome changes are on the way for public transit users in Kitimat.
Beginning on March 6th, all BC Transit routes in the community will return to full conventional service.
Last December, service was temporarily reduced to routes 1A, 1B, 2 and 3 on Fridays and Sundays, but will now return to normal.
In addition, handyDART bus service in the District is being expanded to match the service hours of Kitimat’s standard service.
That will see an additional 950 hours of service time, and provide users of the service with more access and reliability.
HandyDART is an accessible, shared, door-to-door public transit service, intended to assist those who are unable to access fixed-route services without assistance.
