Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 37 Claims Three Lives, Two Youth

Kitimat RCMP are investigating a multi-vehicle collision from Friday, which claimed three lives.

Police and fire crews from both Terrace and Kitimat arrived at the scene of the Highway 37 collision, just past the intersection with Wedeene Mainline, at 9:14 in the morning.

Initial investigations and clean up closed the Highway in front of the Onion Lake Ski Trail for close to 7 hours.

Through that investigation, police determined that a north-bound passenger vehicle had crossed the centreline, and collided with a south-bound commercial vehicle.

All three occupants of the north-bound vehicle, including two youth, were declared dead on the scene.

RCMP are continuing to investigate alongside the Coroners Service, and no further information is being released at this time.
