Several schools in the Northwest will receive a portion of a newly announced $240 million provincial investment.
That investment focuses on projects which help create safer schools, improve accessibility and ventilation, and reduce emissions.
In School District 82, $1.3 million will go towards HVAC upgrades at Kitimat City High and Suwilaawks, roofing upgrades at Kildala Elementary and Thornhill Primary, and electrical upgrades at the Regional Trades and Training Centre.
In Prince Rupert, $1.5 million will go to HVAC upgrades at Charles Hays Secondary and Roosevelt Park Elementary, plumbing upgrades for Charles Hays, Conrad Elementary and Pineridge Elementary, and one new bus.
In the Bulkley Valley, $2.1 million will got toward three new buses, and HVAC upgrades at Silverstone Elementary and Houston Secondary.
