12 community and recreation projects in Northern BC are among 57 benefiting from more than $110 million in joint funding from the provincial and federal governments.
Part of that will fund the construction of new community rec centres for the McLeod Lake Indian Band, and the Kitselas, Nadleh Whut’en, and Nak’azdli Whu’ten First Nations.
Stewart will also see a new community hall built, and Quesnel will get upgrades to the West Fraser Timber Park Trails.
In addition, Eby Street in Terrace will see a new staircase built, River Road in Hazelton will be reconstructed, and Horse Lake Bridge in 100 Mile House will be replaced.
Houston will also get a replacement facility for the Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre, the Williams Lake First Nation will undergo a playground rehabilitation project, and the Doig River First Nation will get a new education and culture building.
All funding comes from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, and you can find a full list of newly funded projects with more details at this link.
