Smithers renovating downtown area over the summer

An announcement was made by the town of Smithers back on April 8^th regarding some changes that they would be making to their downtown landscape.

During the summer, the entire area of Main street will see it’s trees, planters, shrubs, bins and benches be replaced and rejuvenated.

Starting on April 20^th, the trees and plants will be getting pulled out and the work along Main street will continue 2 blocks at a time.

Work will take place from 7 AM to 7 PM and will be from Monday to Saturday and the blocks currently under construction will closed to vehicles for the time being.

However, all sidewalks in the area will stay open for most of the renovation.
